Study Spanish and Volunteer with Special Needs Children, Peru

Minimum 4 weeks

Volunteer in an orphanage or government school working with special needs kids. Many have been abandoned due to poverty and many come from violent homes. They need someone to pay attention to them and care for them. The volunteers spend time with them socializing them and if qualified do basic physical therapy. You will also take one on one Spanish lessons with an experienced teacher during your stay.

Volunteers can work in an orphanage or a school. In the orphanage you will work one on one with the child and take care of them, feed them, and play with them. In the school you will work with a teacher who oversees you. While experience working with children with disabilities is helpful it is in no way necessary.

This program is perfect for any level of Spanish. Whether you are an absolute beginner or already know a good amount of Spanish you will definitely learn a lot and feel more comfortable speaking by the end of your course. You take two hours of lessons five days a week in a one to one setting. This allows you to tailor the lessons to your specific needs.
